Seattle Open

$35,000 SEATTLE OPEN
Ballinger Bowl, Seattle, Wash., Jun 15-18, 1973

Anthony Wins Seattle Again

Give Earl Anthony credit for the victory . . but a double AA for effort goes to little Marty Piraino in the finals of the $35,000 Seattle Open at Ballinger Bowl.

Anthony, the crew-cut Tacoman, won his sixth Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) career title, but a 269-215 loss to Piraino, the doughty Syracuse, N.Y. bowler, in the position-round championship game nearly aced him out of it.

That championship game was a thrilling climax to an already thrilling tournament waged before a host of Anthony's fans from the Tacoma-Seattle area. Anthony won his first PBA title here three years ago.
