Only a sometime competitor on the PBA tour these days, J.B. Blaylock still retains his old skills. The Alamogordo, New Mexico pro, a winner in 1970 of the National Resident Pro Championship, Blaylock came through in the EI Paso Open before a partisan crowd that cheered him on to victory. Tenth at the start of the 24-game match play segment, the man with no first name simply ran away from the field. From a deficit of 104, pins, Blaylock moved up to the lead after 16- games, then breezed to the lead. Blaylock captured 16 of his 23 games going into the position battle, making a 224-187 triumph over Johnny Petraglia just icing on the cake. Fans at Freeway Lanes were treated to a pair of 300 games during the event, Jerry Buchholz, San Jose, Calif., and Bobby Meadows, Houston, Texas, turning in 12-strikers. | | | Name, City/State | | Pins | | WLT | | + | | Tot | | Amt | | | 1 | | J.B.
