Johnny Guenther, the fellow who once rolled a 300 game on national TV, duplicated a feat performed by only a handful of bowlers when he came from fifth place to take the winner's share ($10,000) in Andy Granatelli's STP Classic, held at King Louie West Lanes in Kansas City. The personable West Coaster capped his all-winning effort with a smashing 256-172 victory over Mike Lemongello. Enroute, John disposed of Curt Schmidt, 206-168 . . . Larry Laub, 226-216 . . . Jim Godman, 206-203. In the title match, Limongello, who was the 40-game leader, never had a look-in as Guenther, who in 1969 also came from fifth to first (the event in which he shot his 300), opened with seven straight strikes to win going away.
