Limongello "Opens" With A Triumph

The opening tournament for 1972 was the BPAA U.S. Open, cosponsored by the Bowling Proprietors Association of America and the Minnesota BPA, and conducted by the PBA. The tournament was held at St. Paul, Minn. and the winner was Mike Lemongello who downed Teats Semiz in the championship Fame. Semiz was top-seeded but Lemongellot who tripped Wayne Zahn, 203-171, on the way to the championship game, came up with a 194-186 victory and the $8,000 first prize was his. There were 96 top pros and another 96 league plaers in the field.
