The 1970 tournament season started off on the right foot . . . which meant the lefthanders were in there pitching. The first nine men in the round of 16 were southpaws and when the finals were telecast all five men on the show were portsiders. The winner of the $6,000 first-place prize was veteran Skee Foremsky who downed Dave Davis, 232-195, in the payoff match. For Skee, victory was even sweeter; in winning he became one of the few men in PBA history to win all four matches on TV to take the title.
