LES ZIKES from the Chicago suburb of Palatine was listed as a local professional in the Waukegan Open. And he gave the "hometown" fans more than enough to cheer about as he came through with his first PBA victory. Zikes had to turn back Billy Hardwick's strong bid to become the first bowler in 1969 to win two in a row. Zikes held a 37-pin lead over Hardwick going into the position round and then defeated Billy, 193-180, to wrap up the championship. Hardwick, who was dropped to third behind Johnny Petraglia, was downfalled by the position round for the second time in three weeks. He lost to Nelson Burton, Jr. in the last round at Cranston, R. I., but managed to win at Grand Rapids before losing to Zikes. 40-GAME FINALS | | | Name, City/State | | Pins | | WLT | | + | | Tot | | Amt | | | 1 | | Les Zikes, Chicago, Ill. | | 8939 | | 10-6-0 | | 500 | | 9439 | | $3,000 | | 2 | | Johnny Petraglia, Brooklyn, N.
