Bluth's Frustration Ends

RAY BLUTH'S long PBA career prior to '69 season included a single victory and 12 second-place finishes, but he wasn't to be denied in the Buckeye Open at Toledo, Ohio. Bluth met the challenge of red-hot Teata Semiz with a 247-236 victory. Then, in the title match, he bombed Nelson Burton, Jr., in an all-St. Louis finale, 236-205.

The tourney registered two more 300 games . . . one by Semiz and the other by Jeff Smolenski, bowling as a local entry.
