Guenther's Day At San Jose

JOHNNY GUENTHER made three trips to the San Jose Open pay window for a total take of $19,100.

On the first trip he picked up $10,000 for rolling a perfect game on live television as he defeated Don Johnson. Then he gained possession of a $9,000 check as he tripped Wayne Zahn, 268-194, in the championship finals.. Later he joined Tommy Tuttle and Mike McGrath for $100 payoffs for tournament 300s . . . and still later he picked up the keys to a '69 Cougar awarded by Lincoln-Mercury Division of Ford.
