It's seldom the PBA has had a more popular winner. Teata Semiz was competing before home-state fans and after having lost in the finals of the Buffalo Open a week earlier, there was no stopping him. Semiz defeated Don Johnson in the final game, 256-192, to win the $60,000 Ebonite Gold Cup Open.
