Durbin Notches No. 2

Young Mike Durbin became the first rookie in the history of the PBA to win two tournaments in his opening year by capturing the $30,500 Youngstown Open.

Durbin, who won previously at Tampa, Fla. in the spring, averaged better than 227 pins a game in his closing rush in the match game finals. His margin of victory over second-place Ed Bourdase was 338 pins.

Jim Stefanich electrified the opening day crowd by shooting the second 300 game of his career. Stef wound up in third place.
