Jim Stefanich, of Joliet, Ill. cemented his money lead with a thrilling victory in the U.S. Coast Guard Open in Grand Haven, Mich. The Firestone Tournament of Champions winner defeated Johnny Meyer in the last game of the tourney, 200-185, to capture the $3,000 first prize and raise his money earnings for 1967 to $36,175. Five men . . . Meyer, Stefanich, Bob Strampe, Dick Ritger and Mike McGrath. . had held the lead at one time or another in the week-long test.
