Ritger Captures Fort Worth

Dick Ritger became the second new PBA champion in as many weeks when he carved out a decisive 203-pin win -in the $27,500 Fort Worth Open.

Like Barry Asher the week before, Ritger crashed the winner's circle with a bang as he totalled 9251 for the 40-game grind. This included 550 bonus pins he received for taking 11 of his 16 match games in the finals.

Hometown favorite Bobby Cooper was second with 9048. Norm Meyers added some excitement when he punched out a 300 game, the third of the year on the PBA tour.
