Zahn Still Riding High

Wayne Zahn started the PBA summer tour the same way he ended the winter run. . . He won a tournament. The Firestone Tournament of Champions king knocked off the $27,500 Seattle Open by 77 pins.

Zahn won 12 and tied one of his 16 games in the finals for a 9104 total. Ed Bourdase was second, Don Johnson third and Jim St. John finished in the fourth spot.

At this stage of the year, Zahn was moving up rapidly on Dick Weber for the leading money-winner title. Weber, who sat out the Seattle tourney, had $41,870 to his credit. The $3,000 Zahn got for winning hiked his earnings to $34,525.
