Tucker Finally Wins One
Bill Tucker's six-year campaign to win a PBA tournament finally paid off as the Los Angeles veteran wrapped up the San Jose, Calif. Open.
Don Johnson and Dave Davis shared the limelight as both shot 300 games.
It was Johnson's second perfect game of the year. He scored his other in the Parkersburg, W. Va. tournament.
Tucker's 175-pin margin over second-place Carmen Salvino came in the won lost column of the finals. Both knocked down 8971 pins over the 40-game route but Tucker won 11 of his 16 games in the finals to Salvino's 7-8-1 mark.
