Soutar "Climbs" Pikes Peak

Dave Soutar makes a churchmouse sound like an auctioneer. Not that the 6-3, 180-pounder is that shy, he'd just rather let his bowling ball do the talking.

Dave's 16-pounder was making plenty of noise in the Pikes Peak Tournament at Colorado Springs when it climaxed three victories in the televised finals by rapping out a 236-171 win over Skee Foremsky.

This was Soutar's lowest score in the finals on his way to the championship. His other marks were 257 and 246.

It was Dave's second PBA trophy. The Detroiter won the PBA National Championship in 1961.
