Winner of the Tucson title just three weeks before, the Californian came back strong in the finals to move from 15th to first place with a 9250 pin total. Allison, Pete Tountas and Jackie Henz were deadlocked before Allison shot 480 and Tountas 450 to eliminate Henz (398) in a two-game rolloff for the last two spots in the finals. Bill Bunetta hit his second 300 game of the year in the finals.
