Carmen Salvino proved he still was "on the ball" with a 90-pin victory over Billy Hardwick in the final rundown of the Professional Bowlers Association $24,500 Rockford, Ill. Coca-Cola Open. Salvino made his big move in the final 16 games of the match-play competition. After finishing in the eighth spot of the qualifier, which was led by Darylee Cox, Salvino won 13 of his 16 matches to easily outdistance the other contenders.
