Dave Husted outlasted Marshall Holman in a two-frame rolloff, 39-36, after they had tied at 190 in regulation of the $175,000 Showboat Invitational, to claim his seventh PBA title. Holman, Medford, Ore., struck on his second shot of the 10th frame to force the issue Into overtime. Both bowlers spared in their first extra frame, but after Holman spared again and felled seven pins, Husted struck and added a ninecount for the victory. Holman was somewhat buoyed in that he came back from 19 pins down after eight frames In the semifinal to oust second-seeded Parker Bohn III, 218-216. In the opening game Amleto Monacelli of Venezuela bounced Bob Benoit, Topeka, Kan., 235-160, before bowing to Holman, 191-161.
