Baker turned pro in 1976 and has been on Tour full-time since 1977. The first of his 10 titles on the PBA Tour came in 1980 when he won the Northern California Open in Freemont. His best year came in 1981 when he captured three titles and broke the $100,000 mark in single-season earnings. He earned titles in 1982, 1985 and 1986, before enduring a 10-year winless streak, partially due to wrist injuries. He came back with a vengeance in 1996, winning the AC-Delco Classic and earning nearly $100,000. His ninth title came in 1997 in Harrisburg, Pa., and with the victory put himself over the $1 million mark in career earnings. Baker won the 2004 PBA World Championship at 49 years old to earn a five-season Tour exemption. He has earned more than $1.5 million in his career. Baker has had an outstanding PBA50 (senior) Tour career earning a record four PBA50 Player of the Year crowns and 12 career titles which ranks tied for second all-time.
