Personal: Chad Michael Kloss… Resides in Milwaukee, Wis., with his wife, Michelle, and their daughter, MaKenna… Describes himself as determined, emotional and focused… Nicknamed “Eminem”… Ultimate dinner guests would include his father, Sandra Bullock and Dick Weber… First memory of bowling was competing in a Pro-Am with Pete Weber… Biggest fear is never trying.
2007-08: Though his first season as an exempt bowler was a difficult one, Kloss regained his exemption by finishing third in the PBA Tour Trials to earn one of the final seven spots available… Finished 49th in the PBA World Point Rankings during the season, needing to make the top 39 to avoid going to Tour Trials… Got off to a strong start by making match play and finishing 18th in the USBC Masters, his best finish in a Major in 2007-08… Missed match play in the next three events before bouncing back to finish 15th in the CLR Windy City Classic, his best finish of the first half… Missed match play in nine of the next 10 events… Missed the cut by seven spots or less on three occasions… Finished 31st in the Denny’s World Championship… Finished 13th the following week in the Don Johnson Buckeye State Classic, his best finish of the season; fell to Kelly Kulick, 4-2, in the Round of 16… Also made match play the following week but missed the cut in the final two events and was forced back to Tour Trials where he had earned his 2006-07 exemption… Stardust Bowl II was kind to Kloss again as he led the field after the first day and never looked back… Averaged 244.33 to tie Lonnie Waliczek for the lead the first day… Was third after day two and second after day three, but averaged 223.67 over his nine games on the Chameleon pattern – the best in the field – to jump back into the overall lead… Averaged 209.78 on the Cheetah pattern the final day to finish third overall and regain his exemption.
Career: Is still looking for his first PBA Tour title and first championship round appearance… Has competed in 38 PBA Tour events, cashing 31 times and advancing to match play eight times… Best career finish came in the 2007 USBC Masters where he finished eighth… Owns one career PBA Regional Tour title and $29,040 in regional earnings… Named the 2005-06 PBA Midwest Region Rookie of the Year… Total PBA earnings stand at $82,235.
