The Villages, Florida –   Tom Hess once again had himself a great day on the lanes. He averaged nearly 250 over six games on Tuesday during day two of qualifying to move into the lead at the 2024 PBA50 The Villages Classic.

“I made a better ball decision and played the lanes much better,” Hess said. “I bowled 278 the first game. When you see your ball do the right thing it is easy to relax and repeat shots. I was in the right part of the lane with the right ball all day long.”

Hess admits his confidence is high, he feels great, and he is seeing the lanes the right way. He hopes to continue to ride the wave he is on. He has enjoyed bowling in front of a packed Spanish Springs Lanes with people filling up two separate bleachers.

“We are not even halfway done with this event, so just keep trying to stay in the moment, stay present and keep doing the same thing,” he said. “The results should come.”

Hess has a 79-pin lead over Bob Learn Jr. who is in second place followed by Kirby Allen, Andres Gomez and Jason Couch, rounding out the top five.

Hess and the rest of the C-squad will start the final day of qualifying at 9 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday followed by A-squad at 1 p.m. and B-squad at 5 p.m. At the end of the day, the top third of the field will continue to bowl on Thursday with all pins carrying forward.
